Link Strategy: Link Pyramid - Internet Marketing Genie

Link Pyramids is one of the best Link Building Strategies and is really powerful if it’s set up correctly!
Link pyramids is built with different layers of websites. At the top you have your main site, client site or money site. A link pyramid usually consists of 3-4 layers or tiers.
When building a link pyramid you want the tier 1 to have the highest quality of anchor links and content. Therefore, I choose to create hand-written articles that are unique and related to my main site, with a length of 600-1000 words. Keep the keyword density at about 3-4%
When adding anchor text link don’t use one word keyword, instead try to use sentences with your keyword. If you create an article about SEO, don’t use SEO as your only anchor text.  Use instead sentences such as SEO Consultant, SEO Tips, Best SEO for businesses. This will increase you site in the SERP (Search Engine Result Page) for both SEO and long tail search phrases.
I would even recommend you to start with long tail search phrases when you start your new site, this will make it easier to rank for shorter search phrases later.

Tier 1: As you see on the image above, the number of tier 1 sites are very few. Usually I build 3-5 tier 1 sites such as WordPress blogs, Articles which I post on Articles Directories or YouTube videos with a link back to my main site in the description. Building more when your site is new may result in penalties if Google finds your sites. If you create 3-5 tier 1 sites and fill them with high quality content which is releted to your main site, you reduce the chance that Google will penalize your page even if they discover your pages. Always create high quality content for your Tier 1 sites, this is very important!

Tier 2: This tier contains even more links but they link to your tier 1 sites. Although they link to your tier 1 sites make sure they contains content which is related to you main site. The amount of links you build depends on the quality of the links. If you manage to create links from sites with high quality content and high PR the less amount of links you will need. I would recommend you to create atleast 5 links per Tier 1 site if the Tier 2 links are from high PR sites.
Tier 2 links usually consist of links from sites such as Bookmarking sites, Wiki, Blog comments, Articles directories and blog directorys. The higher PR those sites have, the better ranking you will see when you are done!

Tier 3: Now you want to creat thousands of links that goes to your Tier 2 content.
When creating these links you should not worry about the quality of the pages where the links come from. Just create links to your Tier 2s! Unless you have a program such as Ultimate Demon or Senuke that create thousands of links go to Fiverr or SEO Clerks and buy links there.

Important: The higher PR the sites where the links are coming from the better rank your main site will get!
